Peter Tancevski - Wedding Photographer Melbourne

I have always loved photography and loved the stories behind it. I grow up as an artist making sculptures and painting pictures, but I soon realized that wasn't the stories I wanted to tell.

I bought my first rangefinder camera and started photographing people on streets, cafes, places, towns, and countries.

And that is why I love shooting weddings so much. It's got it's rules and in some ways it's very similar to street photography. Every wedding is completely different. Every couple adds something new. I don't like being in the way, but prefer to capture the moments of the day in a very natural way.

You definitely won't find me running around telling people what to do, or using flashes, umbrellas in the bedrooms. I shoot and walk in with a sense of naivety. I capture the events as they happen. I don't have to tell the groomsmen to fight or dad to hug his daughter, he probably will anyway.

I know the story is there, all the beauty, the characters and details, so all I need to do is Record it I love telling stories and there is nothing I love more. I don't need to do much, the stories are there, all I need to do is capture them and put them together in an album or a Disc.

People love to enjoy them self when they go to weddings, and that is why I prefer to record the moments opposed to directing them, and this allows the wedding party, your family and friends to relax and enjoy the day.

Over the years photographing weddings, I have moved away from all aspects of traditional staged wedding photography towards the documentary unobtrusive photography, recording every detail.

So today I’m a Documentary storytelling photographer that captures the vibe and the special moments of the day in a most unobtrusive unique style.
