Eye To Eye Photography

Leonda By The Yarra 28/08/2010

Adam is the nephew of my good friends Helen and Tony and all they wanted was just some nice documentary and fun photography. The day was perfect and the light wonderful, bit to shiny but nice. Fantastic couple to photograph and great great bridal party as well. I have never seen somany people attending the church ceremony, it was really nice to see that and their reception was just beautiful.

Testimonial: "Hi Peter, Just a message to say Thank you, thank you for our photos. They absolutely tell the story of what a special and exciting day it was for Adam and I. They have brought back so many fantasic memories of what will be an unforgettable day. Thank you again for your beautiful work" Marinella

Leica M9 27/08/2010

Okay, now that I have done some shooting with the Leica m9 digital camera I can write some comments about this wonderful toy. As I wrote in the last post, I have been using the Leica M8 before and it was huge disappointment. The Leica M9 is the same body as the M8 with minor changes and much better improvement on the High ISO and I find it more reliable as well. With the M8 I had problem shooting in low light, it was kind of slughish, but the M9 is spot on for me now. I can shoot in low light without any problem, only on some occasion I grab my Nikon D3 or D700 to photograph in a low, dark locations. The colours are very good except it shows bit more green-yellow to my liking and the sharpness with Leica lenses is amazing. There is only one drowback to this camera, it's very expensive. This camera is an absolute pleasure to shoot with, it feels and looks great and how it really does make you take and see pictures. Okay, now that I've got the romantic stuff out of the way, let's look at some images taken with this gorgeous camera.

Here is some of the pictures taken with the Leica M9 Digital Rangefinder.

Cherie + George's Wedding 15/08/2010

First time we met with George and Cherie I thought to myself, what a wonderful people, I hope they book me as I know I will have the best time, and I wasn't wrong. The wedding ceremony was at St Augustine's Bourke St Melbourne and it was such beautiful ceremony, and the reception Lakeside Convention centre. The day was great, lot's of fun even though we didn't had much time after the church we managed to go to a restaurant and have some coffee. I had a friend of mine filming the day John from video Pro Eye and it's always a pleasure and fun to work with the boy's from Pro Eye.The reception, what can I say: this people know how to party, it was so much fun.

George thank you for the great traditional coffee you have made for me, it was the best :)

This are some of my favourites of the wedding day.

Leica M9 Rangefinder Digital Camera 07/08/2010

One of the most eagerly awaited announcements of the digital era was the full frame Leica M9 digital rangefinder camera. Last week I received my new Leica M9.I had a chance to take couple of shots with it and at the first didn't noticed much of a differences from the Leica M8.I had to sell my M8 camera due to the pour performance for my style of shooting,it was a huge disappointment. The big difference is that it has full frame sensor. I will take some pictures with the camera and will share them here, soon I hope :)

Danielle and Simon | Geelong + Melbourne Wedding 03/07/2010

It's always interesting and informative, to see how a wedding can turn around when you have to photograph in two different cities like, Geelong and Melbourne.Danielle and Simon are from Geelong and they got married to one of the beautiful churches in Geelong and their reception venue was at Brighton International in Melbourne.I have to say that I have photographed many weddings in Geelong and that I love going for a drive and shoot at different location. The weather condition was tricky but at condition like this you come up with something different. After all who wants each wedding to look the same as the last?

A few images.

Jennifer and Eldon Nine Darling South Yarra 13/06/2010

What a privilege I had to photograph this beautiful couple, Jennifer and Eldon. The wedding was fantastic and I did really enjoyed myself shooting and being there on the day. They wanted to spend more time with their close family and friends instead of going around Melbourne to find location for photos, and that was just perfect for me to be able to shoot more documentary, candid photography.

This is new feature that I'm trying out.Just point your mouse over the tnumbnails to view the large photo.

Here is some of my many favourites photos of the day.

Zinc Federation Square Wedding 14/05/2010

Stacey and Arthur celebrate their wedding in the beautiful Zinc reception at the Federation Square Melbourne. The weather was very typical for May, dull and overcast with a chance of rain which it did rain in the afternoon as we did get to the city for couple of shots. It was dark and high contrast which it made it very difficult to shoot natural candid photography. The guest at the venue were all relaxed and happy and was a great opportunity for me to capture the vibe.

Here is some of my many favourites photos of the day.
